Shameeka Marie Gonzalez-Gamboa

Shameeka Marie Gonzalez-Gamboa

Board Chairperson

Shameeka Marie Gonzalez-Gamboa is the Chief Financial Officer of Neighborhood Association for Inter-Cultural Affairs, a Bronx non-profit that assists community residents with eviction prevention, housing services, shelters for the homeless population (male, female, mental health and elderly) and housing for special populations (HIV and Transgender). Shameeka has served since January 2020 as PTO President of AECI II and is currently the Chairperson of the AECI Network Board.

“When my children decided to attend AECI it was extremely important for me to get involved. High school is a crucial time for young adults; as it shapes and molds them for college and ultimately the beginning of their future as independent thinkers. When I was nominated to represent the voice of the parents at AECI as the PTO President, it was a role I took seriously as our parents were trusting me with their most valuable possession, their children. Sharing a platform where I can be a voice that both helps shape and mold the path for our children to have a brighter future is the reason why being an AECI Board member is important to me.”

“It has been a wonderful experience working with the members of the AECI Board. I am extremely pleased that we are all working to give the same educational opportunities and resources to the students that attend AECI, that are given to other students throughout the Tri-State. I feel that with the proper guidance and motivation, our students will develop into outstanding individuals. There is no reason why they cannot be successful in their future endeavors with the proper support. I am honored to be a part of the development and success of these future leaders. “I had no idea a specialized high-school like this existed, particularly in my backyard of the Bronx. After hearing the story of AECI, I felt inclined to share my skill-set & experience and be a resource for their Administration and student population. I, too, am passionate about increasing opportunities for the youth & underrepresented professionals in the larger commercial real estate industry.”
